Today, February 24, 2026, marks one year since we said goodbye to our dear friend and Rotary family member, Leigh Hudson. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel his absence or miss his steady presence among us.
.
Leigh was more than a Rotarian. He was a mentor, a leader, and a true example of Service Above Self. His passion for Rotary, his unwavering commitment to community service, and his genuine care for people left an imprint that time cannot erase. Whether through his leadership as a two-and-a-half-year Club President, Past Rotary District 7710 District Governor, as a major donor to the Rotary Foundation, or simply through his encouragement and kindness, Leigh made each of us better.
.
We miss his wisdom, his positivity, his infectious love for Rotary, and his way of welcoming others to serve alongside him. His legacy lives on in the projects he championed, the lives he touched, and the Rotary values he modeled so faithfully.
.
We are grateful that Leigh’s beloved wife, Karen Nelson Hudson, remains an active member of our Rotary family. It is a privilege to see her each week at our meetings, to enjoy her company, and to surround her with the fellowship and support that Leigh so deeply valued. We love her so we keep an eye on her, just as Leigh would want, and are reminded of the enduring bond we share through her presence.
.
As we reflect today, we remember the laughter, the fellowship, and the countless moments of service we shared with Leigh. He remains forever a part of our Club’s story and forever in our hearts, deeply missed, dearly remembered, and always honored.
