October is…Community, Economic, and Development Month!
- Almost 800 million people worldwide live on less than $1.90 per day. Rotary members strive to provide sustainable solutions to poverty.
- Worldwide, Rotary Club members and the Rotary Foundation work to help strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.
- Rotary helps provide training and access to well-paying jobs and financial management institutions.
- In our community, the Clayton Rotary Club started LaunchJoCo, a county-wide collaborative initiative run by the Clayton Chamber of Commerce that supports and helps develop entrepreneurs and small business owners through business development services, education, resources, and funding opportunities across Johnston County, NC. Many of the mentors, instructors, and even participants are Rotarians from our Club.
